Conference on the implementation of JIM/JAP process

On May 16 and May 17, conference on further implementation of Joint Inclusion Memorandum (JIM) and Joint Assessment of the Employment Policy Priorities of the Republic of Croatia (JAP) took place in Zagreb. Both documents have been developed within the framework of European Union Pre-accession Strategy for the Republic of Croatia and signed in Brussels between high representatives of Republic of Croatia and the European Commission.
This conference was also a joint effort of two Croatian ministries: Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship and Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, which received significant support by the Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities of the European Commission.
Conference covered a number of topics relevant for further successful implementation of JIM/JAP process: measures undertaken by public entities in charge of their implementation, quality of social dialogue, influence of economic crisis on meeting the goals set by documents and etc. Importantly, participants of this conference had an ample opportunity to acquaint themselves with wider EU context which underpins this process: namely Europe 2020 strategy, strongly defined by its open method of coordination between national and supranational authorities. Conference also fostered a rather practical dimension, through presentation of projects developed within Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) scheme, as well as fashion exhibition, preformed by associations “Slap” and “Zvono”, also beneficiaries of the scheme.

Nikola Buković, coordinator of National and Local Youth Policy programmes, participated in the conference on behalf of the CYN.
