CYN president speaks at Croatian Parliament Round Table

Croatian Parliament hosted the round table titled “After the Referendum - What is Next?” on February 7. The table was organized by GONG in order to contribute to the public discussion on Croatian integration and accession to the EU. Speakers at the Round table were: Paul Vandoren, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia, Boris Šprem, President of Croatian Parliament and Berto Šalaj, President of GONG’s Council.

CYN was one of the key civil stake-holders present at the discussion, together with representatives of other civil society organisations, experts and other institutions. The president, Katarina Pavić, and Nikola Buković, programme coordinator attended.

Katarina Pavić emphasized the role of government and other institutions in ensuring that young people use as many opportunities as they can in the EU, especially in the field of mobility and education, but also expressed the need for proper measures aimed at young people who are currently neglected by the system and do not have as many possibilities. She also emphasized key roles of informing young people about the EU, as well as needs to build knowledge and skills for active participation in social and political life trough educational system.
