NEETs must be a priority - Conclusions from the EU Youth Conference in Vilnius

Vilnius hosted the EU Youth Conference from 9 to 12 September in the framework of the Lithuanian EU presidency and the structured dialogue process. Youth and ministry representatives from accross Europe came together to discuss the topic of social inclusion of young people, especially those who are not in employment, education or training (NEETs). Croatia was represented by Tihana Glavurdić from Igra Association, Boris Vujnović and Anamarija Sočo from the Croatian Youth Network, and Ante Martić from the Ministry of Social Policy and Youth.

The focus of this phase of structured dialogue was NEETs. More than 20 000 young people all over EU expressed their opinions and recommendations on this topic while participants in the Conference formulated concrete conclusions based on these recommendations, which are expected to be endorsed by the Council of Ministers in November. The next phase of structured dialogue under the Greek presidency will be the contribution of culture and entreprenurship to social inclusion of young people.
